Language Arts

Reading

  • Practice writing the uppercase letter G and the lowercase g
    • If you are 5 write 5 uppercase and lowercase.
    • If you are 6 write 6 uppercase and lowercase.
  • Have someone help you write down all the words you can think of that start with Gg.
  • Find objects in your house that begin with the Gg sound.
  • Take pictures of your work and send them to me so I can post them here. Pictures are easier for me to transfer onto this blog.

Writing

  • Write in your journal.
    • On Mondays, students can write about whatever they choose, for example if they want to have a sloth riding a llama in space.
    • Remember to Think, Draw, then Write. Think about what the story you want to share, draw a picture with lots of details to help tell your story, then write your story below using the ABC chart if you need.
    • Students are encouraged to try to use spaces between words, to put a period at the end, and to start with using a capital. But really this about putting our stories onto paper.

Math

  • On Mondays, the students would practice printing the numbers 0 - 10, but also 11 - 20 AND 20 - 30 if they want to get crazy.
  • ask them about which numbers are friendly and which are not friendly

Daily Physical Activity.

  • On Mondays, we also do yoga.
  • The special helper would choose 3 or 4 positions and we would try holding them for at least 10 seconds.
  • Remember to breathe.
  • if you fall over you say, "I'm awesome."
