Words Their Way: Sorting Words that Rhyme (green sheet in package)

Today you may want to WATCH MY VIDEO for instructions on how to do this activity the way Mrs. Curle likes it in grade 1. Normally we would join her class and she would teach us but here we are.

• Review what it means when words rhyme?
• think of several examples like fish and dish, math and bath, school and drool..
• Using 2 different coloured crayons, scribble all over the back of the sheet - A LOT!
• Using scissors, cut around the outside first (you should end up with a frame).
• then cut down, then across.
• Sort the pictures that rhyme. Mrs. Curle makes students do it 3 times! 
• On a piece of paper, glue the pictures into their groups (remember to think before you glue!).
• take a picture of your finished work and send it to Mr. Neufeld so he can show off to Mrs. Curle.
